Press Release by Caltrans NEVADA COUNTY – Caltrans is alerting motorists of guard rail repair that will impact traffic along westbound Interstate 80 (I-80) near the State Route 20 (SR-20) offramp starting tonight. Motorists can expect nightly lane restrictions and ramp closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Thursday. Crews are installing a new metal guard rail and concrete barrier. A detour will be in place to direct traffic. Motorists looking to travel westbound on SR-20 from I-80 will exit at Crystal Lake Road then head eastbound back to the I-80 and SR-20 interchange. Restrictions are expected to last through mid-August. Caltrans District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11 Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties. Caltrans reminds motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert” and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers
