Marc John Matulich passed away on October 9th, 2023, in his home. He was born August 27th, 1949, in Santa Rosa, CA. Son of John Matulich and Lina Asti, he was the second of 4 children. Marc graduated from Montgomery High School (1967) and the University of Oklahoma (1972). Marc earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in both Architecture and Environmental Design. He married Elizabeth Mallory Warner of Muskogee, Oklahoma (1974). Marc practiced architecture for 50 years, designing both commercial and residential structures. His “hand-drawn” plans were admired by all. He spent weekends fly fishing in many of California’s renowned and lesser-known rivers and streams. During the late summer days in Mendocino and Plumas counties, he exhibited his tenacity in pursuing deer when bow hunting with his friends and sons. Recently, Marc could be found beneath the Sierra Buttes working on and around the family cabin in Sierra City, CA. Marc is survived by his wife, Mallory, and their children: Emily, Sam, Will, and George. His surviving siblings are Marilyn Kentz and Paul Matulich. His burial will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, October 21st, 2023, in the Sierra City Cemetery, followed by a “Fiesta.” Family and friends are invited to a gathering at Marc’s home on Saturday, October 28th, 2023, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Donations to "SCVFD" will be appreciated: Sierra City Volunteer Fire Department PO Box 257 Sierra City, CA 961251949 — 2023
