JANESVILLE — Pile burning was conducted this week on the Plumas National Forest as part of the Bootsole Project, which managed fuels between the Dixie Fire and Beckwourth Complex burn scar areas. Though initially planned to begin on March 31st, piles were ignited on Thursday, April 3rd, resulting in 100 acres of piles being treated. A further 50 acres were burned on Friday, April 4th, marking the end of the campaign. Firefighters from the Beckwourth Ranger District will continue to monitor the area throughout the weekend.
