A race begins in last year’s World Championships.
JOHNSVILLE — After several cancellations due to insufficient snow, the World Championship Longboard Races, part of the Historic Longboard Race Revival Series, held a successful round on Sunday, March 16th, the third and final scheduled day of racing. The event pits contestants against each other on a race down the slope at the Johnsville Historic Ski Bowl. Wooden skis between 9 and 16 feet in length are used, and leather bindings must be used to secure the feet. This revival series of races has been ongoing since 1993, carrying on a tradition dating back to 1861.
