08:54 - Report of an aggressive dog chasing children at the Downieville School Playground.

08:22 - Someone was prank-calling the county Treasurer’s Office in Downieville.

10:41 - Sardine Lake Resort requested a property check.

13:29 - Juveniles causing problems in Downieville.

14:54 - Mountain lion sighting in Downieville near the Catholic church.

16:01 - fix-it ticket signed off on in Downieville.

16:53 - Civil dispute at the Pike firehouse.

17:41 - Controlled burn in Sierraville.

18:48 - Accidental 911 call from Downieville.

19:23 - Fire restriction information requested.

21:05 - Report of a suspicious person in a vehicle at the Loyalton Mill. Deputies made contact, and the individual moved on for the night.

Thursday, April 17

06:40 - Someone in Loyalton was under the influence of drugs and needed medical attention. The hospital placed the individual under a mental health evaluation hold.

08:14 - Mountain lion sighting in Goodyears Bar.

11:14 - Investigation at the behavioral health department in Loyalton.

11:17 - A structure fire in Alleghany required mutual aid from local fire departments, Tahoe National Forest, and Cal Fire. Firefighters put it out before it could spread to other buildings. Cal Fire and the Sheriff’s Office are investigating the cause.

11:44 - Probation checks were conducted in Portola.

15:39 - Someone was reported to have been sleeping in his vehicle in Sattley and, when awoken, sped away on Highway 89 toward Sierraville. Susanville Highway Patrol was notified.

15:56 - Techwise event held at the Downieville School hosted by Sierra County Probation, Sierra County Sheriff’s Office, California Highway Patrol, and Sierra County Behavioral Health.

18:48 - Juvenile reportedly riding a dirtbike on Loyalton streets could not be located by Highway Patrol.

Friday, April 18

07:16 - Mountain lion sighted again on Pearl Street in Downieville. A US Department of Agriculture trapper set up game cameras and will be back to check them later.

09:16 - Wolf problem at DS Ranches in Vinton.

11:55 - A deputy admonished someone walking around with a box of matches in Sierra Brooks.

12:00 - Two were arrested on Sierra County felony warrants for charges of credit card theft, possession of a stolen credit card, and identity theft.

13:43 - Animal control issue in Calpine.

17:49 - Someone asked the Sheriff’s Office if a video taken was of a mountain lion. It was found to contain a large house cat.

Saturday, April 19

13:54 - Transient next to the highway near Sierraville was referred to Susanville Highway Patrol.

14:06 - Unattended burn pile in Pike. The landowner was located and extinguished the fire.

17:19 - Someone in Loyalton asked an ATV driver to slow down, which led to a physical confrontation. Documentation was written but no charges were pressed.

18:13 - A motorcycle had hit a guardrail on Highway 49 in western Sierra County, but the rider was nowhere to be found. Highway Patrol was notified.

20:00 - A male impersonating a Sierra County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant called the Sierra County Sheriff’s Office. After he hung up, there was no information to investigate further.

20:58 - Susanville Highway Patrol requested assistance for a motorcycle pursuit on Highway 70. The pursuit was canceled, but the motorcyclist was identified.

22:21 - Someone had not been heard from for 10 hours, but later, the overdue party made contact with the caller safe and sound.

23:58 - A caller to 911 reported that an airplane had been in the sky above the person’s residence for an hour, saying the pilot was confused and the plane was too high to be identified. The Sheriff’s Office did not respond due to no crime occurring, it being the only report made, no information given about the airplane, and signs of possible mental health issues.

Sunday, April 20

13:58 - The US Forest Service, Cal Fire, Pike City Fire, and Alleghany Fire contained a fire above the Alleghany water tanks.

14:31 - Sacramento Highway Patrol was notified of a stranded motorist in the snow on Eureka Mine Road. A tow truck was being dispatched.

16:20 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

16:25 - Suicidal person in the Sierraville area called a crisis line. The crisis line did not have a specific location for the caller.
