17:47 - Overlength semi on Hwy 49 busted by Deputy near Sierra City. Truck turned around and hopefully driver was strongly admonished.

20:04 - What the dickens! Sierra County becomes one of a handful of counties to receive a bomb threat related to elections. According to the Sheriff’s Office the FBI determined the threat mailed to the Clerk-Recorder office was not credible. Crikey!

Tuesday, November 12

13:53 - Owner picked up dog running loose in Pike.

15:19 - Report of overlength semi truck outside of Downieville. A holiday tune with a different set of lyrics is running through my head: It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas- everywhere you go- take a look at the semi trucks, overlength and getting stuck, with cars and trucks all sliding in the snow! It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas- chain controls are here- CHP will come save the day, to folks in great dismay- rerouted by their GPS oh dear! (That’s all my brain can come up with on two cups of coffee).

12:38 - Coroners case involving logging accident around Sierraville. Deceased lived outside of Sierra County. Condolences.

13:50 - Report of elder abuse in Loyalton investigated by the law. Concerns are not warranted.

18:28 - Crash on Hwy 49 at MM 40.25. Driver will retrieve vehicle later.

06:48 - Notification of burn pile in Sierraville.

11:37 - Citation issued in Loyalton for driving unregistered vehicle. Last night, when hubby got home from work and we were discussing our day, he asked about the registration sticker on my ride. “Where’s your 2025 sticker?” I didn’t know what he was talking about. “The registration sticker you got back in July?” Sure enough, I looked in the glove box and there it was! All these months I never noticed!

14:19 - Citation issued in Chilcoot for driving on suspended license.

14:34 - Report of fire near Calpine. Forest Service doing controlled burn.

15:45 - Citation and vehicle impounded near Chilcoot for multiple violations.
