11:32 - Before I begin, sadly, this week’s Blotter will no doubt be in the top five most boring weeks ever documented. We need to get into more trouble in Sierra County. Okay, not really; I’m sure the deputies could use a break. Here we go: At 11:32 - an audible alarm sounded in Loyalton. Wow.
11:35 - Two little cows are on a Loyalton road. Imagine that.
13:43 - Caller requested info on how to take care of a warrant. First thought was, “Don’t get into trouble in the first place,” but I’m being a bad sport typing because I’m disappointed in the lack of news this week.
14:04 - Report of the Bear Fire in Loyalton. All agencies involved have done an incredible job trying to safeguard lives and property. Of course, there is always at least one critic - usually an online troll sitting on their couch eating Doritos and Little Debbie’s snack cakes who seems to think he or she is wiser than the men and women actually on the ground battling the flames in difficult terrain and challenging conditions.
15:14 - Ambulance requested in Sierra City.
16:21 - Ambulance requested in Downieville.
19:11 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

05:31 - Cow vs vehicle accident in Loyalton. Well, there’s some excitement. Glad no one was hurt.
08:39 - A lamb in Calpine was killed - culprit speculated to be a dog or coyote. Though I was hoping for something more sensational, like a wolf on the prowl... it seems it was not a wolf. I’m sorry for the lamb.
13:15 - Accidental 911 call in Loyalton.
13:35 - Remember that little child who called the SO last week over 200 times? Something similar is going on again. Deputy checked around the same area in Loyalton - without success.

00:48 - Deputy cleared a rock off Highway 49 near Downieville. Takes more than Caltrans to keep our roads clear. Takes a village.
02:41 - Caller out of Loyalton contacted the FBI about an online stalking issue - which then, as a courtesy, relayed the information to the Sheriff’s Office. A deputy was sent out to investigate. Anytime I read “FBI,” my thoughts drift to the television series “X-Files” (1993-2002). Agent Muller and Scully come to mind. Love that show! If you now have the theme song from that show playing in your head, you are most welcome. If you don’t just yet...give it a few minutes and you might. These days I am waiting for the last season of “Stranger Things” to air. It’s past time already!
04:34 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.
13:34 - DUI citation in Loyalton. After I got my hair done the other night at the Downieville Day Spa (thanks Kathy, feel like I’m 35, not 50!), I headed over to the St. Charles for a beer. I was thanked once again by someone for not putting names in the paper (as is my prerogative for the handful that aren’t redacted). I tend to want to side with mercy when folks do stupid, for I too have done many a stupid thing. Matter of fact, my favorite quotation by an unknown author is: “When God placed a calling on your life, He already factored in your stupidity.” Indeed the most comforting words I have ever read!
13:53 - Sierra City bear raids a dry storage section. Pancake and hot chocolate mix was on the menu. Not a bad combination, and clearly, the bear agrees!
14:06 - Well, my mood is brightening as I am continuing this column on a new day with new opportunities! But I’m guessing the mood was not so bright for one in Downieville who was arrested for violating his probation!
15:39 - Someone lost a wallet in Downieville! Oh, let me share with you a video I recently watched about an ongoing scam. If you get a package in the mail with some trinket you have not ordered, and you see a QR code on the package...do not scan the QR code with your phone. Once you do, it may empty the contents of your digital wallet and bank information from your phone!
16:05 - Incident documented concerning a theft at the Alleghany Transfer Station.
17:13 - Report of physical altercation at Carlton Campground. Deputies were not able to locate any suspects.
