15:28 - Somewhere between Downieville and Truckee property was lost.

15:31 - Citation for a driving violation issued in Sierraville by deputy.

16:42 - Accidental 911 in Downieville.

17:22 - Juveniles throwing caution to the wind by once again jumping from a bridge in Downieville.

19:20 - Arrest made in Sierraville as it was deemed someone was driving under the influence of something stronger than the law allows.

19:39 - Bear breaking into property and hanging out longer than Sierra City residents desired.

23:40 - Calpine individual arrested on charges ranging from Domestic Violence to Grand Theft.

Tuesday, July 9

01:43 - Bear required deputy assistance to exit a Sierra City vehicle.

05:34 - Caller given information needed in pursuing runaway juvenile in a different county.

06:34 - Report in Sierraville of a reckless driver.

08:18 - “Found property was turned into the Sheriff’s Office in Downieville.”

09:05 - Cows trying to exercise their rights to walk freely in Loyalton reported.

09:07 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

10:46 - Vandalism reported in Loyalton.

11:05 - Busy morning in Loyalton as a report of a dog attacking another dog is taken.

11:40 - Accidental notification of medical request from an Apple device around Gold Lake.

12:39 - Dogs reported to be left in a vehicle in Downieville. Don’t get me started. I just poured my coffee. Ah hell, here it goes…it’s hot outside. It’s potentially a great deal hotter inside a vehicle…I’ll leave it at that for now. No, I changed my mind. Some organizations report that in 2023 that while over 800 dogs were rescued from hot vehicles, roughly 200 were not so fortunate and died. Should we move on to statistics on children left in hot cars?

12:43 - Sierra County Probation busy at work with a plan on detaining someone out of county,

13:26 - Fender bender in Downieville. Next to the courthouse of all places.

13:40 - Report of a goat in the back of a pickup truck. No crime.

15:36 - Lost property from the Shangri-la area turned into the Sheriff’s Office.

16:02 - Questions about civil service issue arise from Camptonville.

19:04 - Fight in Downieville resulted in one later arrested on a Battery charge.

19:52 - Verdi caller with flat tire received a ride from a coworker.

Wednesday, July 10

07:25 - Loyalton alarm accidentally triggered by home owner.

09:34 - Outside agency will be in our neck of the woods collecting evidence.

09:51 - Request to notify Plumas hospital that a patient was on the way.

13:12 - Call came from Camptonville about burglary concerns.

13:48 - Deputy issued driving violation in Sierraville.

15:04 - “Report of stolen license plate at Stampede Reservoir.”

17:45 - One arrested off of Highway 70 on DUI related charges.

18:30 - Fire outside the county reported from the Hallelujah Junction area.

18:47 - Loyalton Fire assisted with the above mentioned call. Fire off of HWY 395.

19:36 - Ambulance requested at Gold Lake.

20:57 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

Thursday, July 11

06:34 - CHP notified of yak alongside the roadway in Sattley (not a ka’yak’ mind you but a four legged yak!). Reminds me I am still aiming to try Sierra Valley Yaks meat!

08:52 - Driver pulled over by deputy after failing to yield properly near Indian Valley Campground.

10:19 - Cows near train tracks around Portola.

11:48 - From Loyalton: “Report of a wanted person possibly residing at a previous residence in a trailer.”

12:22 - Ambulance requested in Downieville.

13:08 - Stray dog reported around Pike.

13:13 - Reckless driver reported around Downieville.

13:31 - Parking issue in Downieville. The Downieville Classic mountain bike race weekend parking issues have begun!

15:04 - Plumas County notified of a vegetation fire in their parts.

15:59 - Illegal camper reported in Sierra City.

16:06 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

17:03 - Chuckling. Here we go again: “Report of juveniles jumping from the Durgan Bridge.” As I turn 50 next month, reflecting on my own wild teen years…I am simply glad I lived before most of society became chained to a device. And while I don’t want to condone anyone breaking the law or putting themselves or others at risk- I have to smile at this lot for at least being brave enough to put their phones down this summer and live! For those whose halos are too tight and teeth are grinding at what would seem a sliver of support for this activity, I am considering writing an article about bridge jumping in our town and the safety and legal implications thereof.

18:44 - Loyalton horses corralled back onto property. Owner has a fence to fix.

18:54 - While campers were found legally camping in Downieville, a traffic violation citation was issued.

19:09 - In Loyalton: “$100 counterfeit bill passed at a local business.”

19:41 - Citizen assist in Sierra City.

19:42 - Loyalton female arrested on battery charges.

20:06 - One in Loyalton arrested after a possible hit and run with injuries. Subject was cited out and released to the hospital.

Friday, July 12

08:13 - USFS reports smoke in Truckee area due to a logging operation.

09:18 - Lodger at Mendocino County Jail called the Sheriff’s Office.

10:14 - Loyalton resident arrested for violation of a court order.

11:04 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

12:11 - Bear breaking into travel trailer in Verdi.

12:35 - Call from Wayne Brown Correctional facility: “Report of sex offense that occurred outside the county.”

13:19 - Probation and deputies conducted multiple probation searches around Calpine.

13:45 - Bear trying to access grocery stocked vehicle in Sierra City.

14:22 - Deputy assisted a woman in Calpine who fell.

15:09 - Loyalton driver found required paperwork avoiding citation.

15:49 - Around a Truckee boat ramp, a dog has reportedly been locked inside a vehicle for the past 6 hours. USFS notified. I’m working on my salty language. This entry makes it challenging.

16:06 - Multiple vehicles issued parking violation citations in Downieville.

16:15 - Medical request Downieville.

17:31 - A drunk person lying on the ground in Loyalton seems medically fine by EMS. “A sober family member will be looking after the individual the rest of the night.”

18:10 - Bad parking job in Downieville was corrected before the law arrived.

19:43 - Someone lost their Iphone in Downieville. That royally sucks.

20:26 - Downieville driver on probation found to be illegally driving and possessing a firearm. Vehicle impounded and subject arrested on multiple charges.

20:41 - Dog obstructing the road in Downieville.

22:29 - Disturbance of peace reported in Loyalton.

Saturday, July 13

00:42 - Dogs running amuck in Downieville.

07:36 - Ambulance request in Loyalton.

08:48 - Report of smoke from Truckee area.

08:56 - Sheriff Fisher issued a vehicle citation in Downieville.

12:04 - Deputy assists a stranded driver on Highway 89.

13:40 - Found property in Downieville.

14:16 - Juvenile probation issue in Roseville.

14:47 - Deputies helped with traffic control for care flight in Downieville.

15:14 - Fictitious plate issue at Stampede.

15:52 - Lightning strike causes small fire in Truckee.

16:06 - Loud boom reported in Downieville. Again, it is the Downieville Downhill bike race weekend!

17:01 - Address change in system to correct spelling.

17:52 - Lost dog reported in Sierra brooks.

18:58 - Lightning strike results in the “Palen Fire.” SO, Loyalton Fire and Forest Service worked to contain about 3 acres. Tahoe Forest Service took over the scene.

20:28 - Loyalton: “Upon talking with the dispatcher, the caller believes that she was possibly dreaming and thought someone broke in but turned out to be false.” I get it! Have you ever slept so deep you wake up in a panic thinking you overslept your entire workday and didn’t pick the kids up from school only to realize it’s Sunday?

20:52 - Residential fence in Downieville hit by vehicle.

22:54 - Domestic violence reported in Calpine.

22:59 - Kids playing on school grounds disturbing campers trying to sleep.

23:46 - Bear broke into a vehicle in Downieville. Vehicle owner and bear were not seen when law arrived.

Sunday, July 14

07:59 - Welfare check requested in Sierra City.

10:22 - Deputy helped unlock vehicle at Loganville Campground.

11:31 - Lost property reported in Downieville.

11:37 - Lost property reported again, in Downieville.

12:19 - Report of trespassing at a cabin near Gold Lake.

13:56 - Citizen assisted in Downieville with car trouble.

16:11 - Lost phone turned into SO in Downieville was picked up by owner.

17:53 - Citizen assisted near Coyoteville.

18:24 - Deputy assisted driver near Verdi.

19:03 - Deputy assisted person with a ride to Dobbins
