00:41 - Before we begin I should state the hard part of this week’s Blotter is over for me - typing the word “February.” My mind always thinks it doesn’t look right. Anyway - at this early hour the Sheriff’s Office received an accidental 911 call from Loyalton.

10:31 - Coroner’s case in Loyalton - sick female. Condolences.

13:22 - Deputy patrolling around Chilcoot instructed owner to move their vehicle to a permissible location.

16:22 - Information provided about possible assault in Camptonville.

18:01 - Control burn in Camptonville.

12:39 - Sheriff’s Office assists with a Forest Service investigation.

13:00 - Loyaltonian assisted with transportation.

13:14 - Ambulance request in Loyalton.

18:36 - Semi in Sierra City was able to turn around and backtrack to find a route appropriate for its length.

21:34 - Ambulance request in Loyalton.

Wednesday, February 12

07:03 - Controlled burn around Bar One Ranch.

08:38 - Controlled burn by McNair Meadows.

08:56 - Successful civil service completed in Loyalton.

12:41 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

13:35 - Paint fumes set off fire alarm in Loyalton.

14:29 - Vehicle at a Downieville parking lot raised suspicion, as the person sitting in the back seat sat so long it caused concern from curious folks. Turns out it was a private investigator conducting a “not so private” investigation with all the fancy Sherlock Holmes equipment set up in their back seat. Who were they investigating while sitting in the pizza parlor parking lot? Don’t know. Apparently the details were not disclosed to the deputy who visited their car window.

14:55 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

16:11 - Vehicle broke down along Depot Hill awaiting tow. That was my rig! And for too many reasons to list, God was gracious the entire day, and immensely blessed me while dealing with this headache. Don’t mind one bit walking to the newspaper until my rig is fixed - I can surely use the exercise! How can anyone complain about walking in our paradise? I can feel the sun on my face, hear the birds chirp and the river flow, and smell the smoke from fireplaces from the homes as I stroll along. Delightful!

16:48 - Possible restraining order violation in Sierra City. Report generated.

17:02 - 775 Off Road & Recovery pulled a driver out of the snow near Ladybug Peak.

20:55 - Sierra City Fire unable to find reported gas smell or any leak on a main street.

Thursday, February 13

05:58 - Accidental 911 from Loyalton leads to medical check on the resident.

12:30 - Civil service successfully completed in Loyalton.

12:54 - Juvenile issue in Downieville.

14:29 - “Coroners Assist investigation in Loyalton...death of an individual at the Long Term Facility.” Condolences.

16:03 - Person arrested in Loyalton on charges of being under the influence of a controlled substance. Someone asked me why I don’t mention their name - well, I wouldn’t want mine mentioned. Editorial preference.

18:20 - Possible stolen vehicle in Downieville was a family miscommunication. I remember when I seriously thought my vehicle was stolen from the parking lot near the Downieville Community Hall. After a few minutes walking around stunned, I remembered I parked in the Sierra Hardware store parking lot. Or maybe it was the other way around - don’t remember. Exactly why I thought it was stolen. I didn’t remember.

19:45 - Caller impersonated a sergeant from the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department.That made me laugh. It really isn’t funny. But I’m still chuckling. Bad Angela, Bad! I wish I could have heard that call. Oh well.

08:50 - Ambulance requested in Downieville.

13:14 - Civil standby in Loyalton.

15:04 - “Citation issued for drugs” southbound Highway 70. Possible issue of underage marijuana use.

20:17 - One was able to free a snowmobile from the elements of the environment and called the SO so folks didn’t think they were stranded and lost in the wilderness.

21:28 - Deputy checked Calpine area after report of gunshots.

10:27 - Loyalton caller reports early morning mountain lion sighting they read about on social media.

15:41 - Vehicle theft reported in Loyalton.

16:02 - Accidental 911 in Loyalton.

17:19 - Loyalton juvenile involved in a confidential investigation.

23:23 - Pike resident reports stolen property to S.O.
