16:27 - CHP notified of reckless driver near Sierraville.

17:42 - Report of juveniles smoking weed in the alley of Commercial Street in Downieville. I immediately thought of the movie Dazed and Confused and chuckled, remembering, “Alright, Alright, Alright.” Actor Matthew McConaughey made the film worthy to watch more than once. All I ever heard as a teen was weed being the gateway drug. Was that ever proven to be true? Curiously, I researched, and a healthline.com article seems to think weed being the “gateway drug” is a myth. However, the article finds there is the truth that marijuana is addicting. In any case, the “experts” in my youth should have put the same energy into teaching us to stay away from sugar. Like many Gen Xers starting to care about health a bit more and eating less sugar, I can’t seem to go any length of time without a sugar fix. The other night, when I dropped off some items to a local on Main Street whose dog, Nadine, I am endeared to (each day that I drive by, I leave a treat at the gate for her) - I was overjoyed when Nadine’s owner presented me with a box of my favorite - Sees candy. Divine!
