08:22 - “Sheriffs Office issued a Public Safety Declaration for a mountain lion seen numerous times near the Loyalton Elementary School. The Sheriffs Office requested the assistance from the USDA Federal Trappers to set a trap near the school.”

09:16 - Dogs enjoying their freedom running loose in Downieville. An old-timer told me that decades ago when lots of dogs ran amuck at all hours- the town hardly had bear problems. Probably would be a great deterrent for the big cats. Dogs running loose don’t bother me - it’s their crap left all over sidewalks and streets that’s problematic. Who wants to clean up after someone else’s dogs? I certainly don’t.

14:40 - “Calpine resident reporting suspicious activity.”

16:23 - Caltrans notified of trash on Hwy 49, MM 54.3.

17:06 - “Deputy checks citizens welfare while walking along the highway.”

23:54 - Plumas County canceled mutual aid request as they were able to handle fire near Beckwourth Road.

Saturday, January 25

04:21 - Ambulance requested in Downieville.

10:50 - Patrol increase requested in Loyalton around Mill Street.

12:19 - Dog possibly not giving out kind vibes to delivery driver in Verdi;

12:24 - Well, a dog in Sierra City appears to be having a bad day; quarantined after “biting a person.” Not to mention the individual. Yikes.

12:59 - Ambulance requested in Calpine.

19:02 - Three dogs found near Cal-Ida. Appears to be two “brindles” and one “border collie.” Caller has the dogs.

Sunday, January 26

00:05 - Deputy searched Loyalton area for reported drunk driver with kids. Sigh.

14:14 - “Report of suspicious vehicle in Calpine.”

23:55 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.
