Ronald Lewis Morgan, 74, of Reno, NV, passed away suddenly on February 6, 2025, due to cardiopulmonary arrest while at Renown Medical Center (Reno, NV). He was born on August 8, 1950, in North Carolina.

Ron moved to Quincy on October 31, 1963, with his family when he was 13 years old. He graduated from Quincy High School in 1968 and then continued his education at Foothill College in the Bay Area. Ron moved back to Quincy after college, where he married his first wife, Katie, and subsequently welcomed the birth of their daughters, Ronda (1972) and Sheri (1975).

Ron enlisted in the Air Force in 1970, working for the National Air Guard in Reno, NV until 1976, then re-enlisted again for another 6 years from 1978 until 1984. Ron began his career with Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) as a meter reader in Plumas County, then advanced to become a lineman, relocating to Chico, CA.

In 1986, Ron and Elizabeth met and subsequently married in 1987. In 1988, they welcomed the birth of their son Kenneth while living in Chico, and then they relocated to Quincy for several years. Ron and Elizabeth lived in Loyalton, CA for many years before moving to Reno, NV.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Darlene and Ted Morgan. Ron is survived by his siblings, Debbie (Don) Stallions, Mark Morgan, and Mike (Julie) Morgan; his wife Elizabeth; his children, Ronda (Rob) Stevens, Sheri Morgan, Kenneth (Kaylee) Morgan; five (5) grandchildren, eight (8) great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ron loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time with family and friends while fishing, hunting, skiing, and golfing. Ron was also an avid cribbage player and member of the American Cribbage Congress, achieving the Life Master rating of three stars as well as winning many tournaments over his lifetime. He enjoyed playing cribbage in both the Graeagle and Reno Grassroots cribbage clubs and recently earned his Grassroots Gold award.

Ron will be dearly missed by his friends and family. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025 (11:00 AM) at Blair Mortuary, 392 Lawrence St., Quincy, CA, followed by burial at Quincy Cemetery East Lawn. A Celebration of Life has been scheduled at the Mineral Building (Quincy Fairgrounds) immediately following.
