DOWNIEVILLE — Since July of 2024, when the old gas tanks from the Downieville Gas Station were dug up and removed, work has steadily progressed on the long-awaited project. Once the old tanks were hauled away, two 15,000-gallon double-walled tanks were installed. The tanks are divided so regular, plus, premium, and diesel gasoline can be sold. Workers then dug trenches both to the front and back of the gas station building into which piping was installed. Finally, the noteworthy milestone of pump installation was reached in December. The pumps are branded with “Downieville Motors – Gasoline” over the image of a wheel.
