Dear Editor,
Congressman Kevin Kiley, according to his January 31 Press Release, has introduced a “Freedom to Cooperate Act” “to enable local officials who wish to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement to do so irrespective of any state law.”
As usual, the Congressman is focusing on scapegoating instead of on the real needs of our region. We don’t need law enforcement focusing on anything but law enforcement, nor do we want law enforcement acting “irrespective of misguided and legally dubious state laws.”
Kevin Kiley, we who live in District 3 have real needs from our government, including a healthy environment, a healthy economy, and the rule of law. Start representing THOSE interests, please.
Jesse Golden,
Camptonville
