Last week, the Herlong Vikings advanced their season record to 3-1 while punishing the Westwood Lumberjacks by a score of 68-12. This Saturday, at 1 PM, the Vikings will be on their home field facing the Big Valley Cardinals (Bieber), a 1-4 team coming off a 39-0 victory over the Dunsmuir Tigers. Meanwhile, the winless Lumberjacks will travel to Dorris in Siskiyou County for a Friday evening game against the Butte Valley Bulldogs, a 2-4 team who barely beat the winless Happy Camp Indians last week, 44-40.

Meanwhile, the Portola Tigers remain winless this season following their loss at home last Friday evening to the Hamilton Braves. This week, the Tigers will be traveling to play the Williams Yellowjackets, a team with two wins and three losses in the 2024 season.

The Nevada Union Miners, beaten 48-21 by the Placer Hillmen last week, will take a 5-2 record into this Friday’s game in Lincoln against the unbeaten Twelve Bridges Raging Rhinos, a team who demolished the Yuba City Honkers last week by a score of 52-0.

The Quincy Trojans also lost last Friday, evening their record at 3-3 when they were outscored, 36-6, by the visiting Biggs Wolverines. Unfortunately, this week, the Trojans are traveling to play the Maxwell Panthers, a team who were edged, 26-24, by the Biggs Wolverines two weeks ago.

The Loyalton Grizzlies traveled last Friday to play a rematch with the Chester Volcanos and won again, this time by a score of 49-32. At 1 PM this Saturday, the Grizzlies will host the Hayfork Timberjacks, an unbeaten (6-0) team that has outscored its opponents 288 to 28. Meanwhile, the Volcanos, who lost 50-0 when playing Hayfork two weeks ago, are scheduled to host the 2-3 Plumas Charter Warriors from Quincy.

For the Bear River Bruins, last week’s come-from-behind, 27-21, victory over the Lincoln Fighting Zebras gives the Bruins a 5-1 record going into their Friday evening game this week against the 2-4 Marysville Indians in Marysville.

Last week, the Truckee Wolverines extended their unbeaten season, going 7-0, when the team dominated the Lowry Buckaroos of Winnemucca, NV, by a score of 35-7. However, the Wolverines’ spotless record will definitely be at risk tomorrow when they travel to play the 6-0 Elko Indians at 7 PM.

After a bye week, the Feather River Eagles will be on the road for their 1 PM game on Saturday against the Reedley College Tigers, a team riding a three-game win streak who, unlike the Eagles, will not have traveled nearly 350 miles before taking the field.
