The summer program for children at the Downieville Library — Library Tales — begins next Thursday, June 20. It will run every Thursday (except for July 4) through August 15. Even though the library, itself, doesn’t open until noon on Thursdays, Library Tales will begin at 11:00 a.m., and go until 12:30 p.m. Each week will feature a “guest” presenter, who will read to children and then engage them in crafts and/or activities. Our first presenter will be Alma Mesa. This program is open to children of all ages — both residents and summer visitors. Parents and/or care-givers are, of course, also invited to come with the children.
