John Perez (middle back) celebrates JADAA’s Grand Opening with his team and family
DOWNIEVILLE — After many months of planning, John Perez’s JADAA’s Kitchen officially celebrated its Grand Opening on Saturday to a festive and hungry crowd. There was standing room only, with folks from near and far packing the restaurant for hours. With his trusted team of Granny & Carlos, John kept things moving smoothly while his family helped take orders and run food. John’s daughters, Anyssa, Analie, and Allyah (the three “A”s in JADAA’s), along with their husbands and children, drove up for the special occasion.
Perez and his small team cranked out over 120 BBQ plate specials and his local favorite sandwiches and flatbreads in just a few hours. A raffle was held, for which local establishments provided items, followed by live music at the adjoining St. Charles Place, where attendees reveled into the night. With limited affordable food options in town, the return of JADAA’s is welcome. JADAA’s Kitchen is open “most days” from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for breakfast and lunch and for dinner from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. To check if JADAA’s is open, look for the donkey out front or give them a call at (530) 435-6089.
