TWAIN — On Tuesday morning at 6:49 AM, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) dispatch center received a report of a reckless driver on Highway 70 in the Feather River Canyon. The caller described a dark green Acura “swerving all over the road and driving in the wrong lane,” according to Quincy CHP. While en route to the scene, the responding officer learned of a head-on collision involving the same Acura just ten minutes after the initial report.

According to CHP, Jeremy Genn, 53, of Oakdale, was driving in the wrong lane with a female passenger. As he entered a blind curve near Rush Creek, west of Twain, he collided with a Chevrolet pickup truck driven by a 62-year-old Quincy resident. The impact caused significant damage to both vehicles and injured all three individuals involved.

All three were airlifted to Enloe Medical Center in Chico. After extracting the vehicles and conducting an extensive cleanup, authorities reopened the highway in under three hours.

Quincy CHP stated that charges will be filed against Mr. Genn for reckless driving resulting in injury. Any witnesses are encouraged to contact Quincy CHP via social media or by calling (530) 283-1100.
