Dorothy May Rennie was born August 8, 1931, in Leith, Nevada, to Jesse and Frieda Hodson. She was raised and educated in Susanville, CA, where she graduated from Susanville High School. She passed away peacefully on March 26, 2024, in Loyalton, CA.
Dorothy's life was filled with adventure. She worked at J. C. Penny for 16 years and was a mentor in Women's Ministries with her church family. She was an avid traveler who loved going on cruises and penny gambling. She is remembered by family and friends for her passion for cake making and tending to her beloved rose garden. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of sharing life with her. She will forever hold a special place in all of our hearts.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Roberts Crews, and his wife, Darlene; daughter-in-law, Janet Crews; grandchildren, Jim and Steve Crews and Jeannie Cullins; and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Mt. View Cemetery in Reno, NV, under the direction of Blair Mortuary, Portola, CA.
