Don McIntosh Honored for Service

Former Downieville resident (1931-1938 and 1984-2013) Don McIntosh, now a resident of Bellingham, WA, was honored for his service as a veteran and Marine in WWII by Whatcom County Hospice on July 21, 2023 in his home he shares with long-time girlfriend, Lori Prorok. His Daughter, Laurel McIntosh, her husband, David Bussell, and Don’s granddaughter Kendra Miller and partner Erin Crosby were in attendance. The whole family was moved to tears.

Don’s dad was Judge Raymond McIntosh, Superior Court Judge for Sierra County and California from the thirties to 1957. Don was a County Supervisor from 1989 to 1997 and volunteered at the museum for over 15 years.
