I want to talk about a rescue that is near and dear to my heart. It’s called the Cat Behavior Alliance and, under the Cat Behavior Alliance, is the Carolina Cat Sanctuary. It is run by two people: Rita Reimers and Linda Hall. They have 29 cats in their sanctuary in total! Linda has 10, and Rita has 19. Not only do they care for 29 cats, but they are also certified Cat Behavior Consultants! They care so much about helping cat owners who are struggling with cat behavior problems. As said on their website, “Linda and Rita’s goal is to equip cat parents with the knowledge and tools needed to manage unwanted cat behaviors. Their goal is to help more cats remain in their forever homes with their human companions. They also want to help cat owners to develop a deeper, stress-free relationship with their felines by sharing their knowledge of cat behavior, especially when it comes to multi-cat households.” They are also the hosts of Pet Life Radio’s “19 Cats and Counting”!

So, you can imagine how sad I was when I saw a Facebook post about one of the sanctuary cats (Inky), who was being rushed to the vet with a medical emergency. Later that evening, Inky sadly passed away. He belonged to Linda. I was absolutely heartbroken for her.

Rita and Linda give these cats a second chance at life. Whether it be after a long or short time, the cats leave this world knowing that they are loved and cared for.
